yeah, it sounds like the example project from a “How To Make Chillwave” tutorial on Sonic Academy or something….compared to this that Gerry Read track is straight up interesting!

Have never understood the appeal of this guy’s incredibly bland music. Boring drum programming. Really standard mix techniques. Zero musical virtuosity. Where’s that soul, mane?

The BoC part is the lead line that happens a few spots in the song (try right at 4:00). It sounds like the lead sounds from Roygbiv off of Music Has The Right To Children. Except, that song is classic and this song should go into the trash can.
