So, does Mogwai know you’re giving away free downloads of their album before they even have a chance to sell any copies of it? If you like the band, why are you making it easy for everyone to take money away from them? If you think you’re helping them, why aren’t you contacting them and asking if you can give their music away?
I bet your and your friends are not musicians. You wouldn’t want people giving copies of your work away for free without your knowledge or permission. Nice job.
I’m pretty sure they are aware that their album has leaked. Do you know them? How could you tell they’re not okay with their music being spread, in this case entirely for free, wich will make lots of new fans and most of those fans will buy their album, go to their shows, recommend to friends, etc.
I mean, those are the fans that really matter. Mogwai or any other band don’t need to worry about their music being given away for free because as long their music is good and made not for money but for the interest in music itself they will succeed and will be known.

got it from here first… listened to it once and immediately bought the (vinyl)album, and afterwards even the box set…. for only one reason: supporting the artist! – never give up spreading music for free via the internet, cos that’s the way it’s supposed to be!
