The type of album you listen to 30 second clips of each song and then throw it in your recycle bin. While I don’t expect him to bang out trance anthems or anything, I do miss the danceable / ear worm making James Holden.
best 2013 electronic album for me so far.
Apparently I’m missing something… The Boards of Canada release, Jon Hopkins – Immunity, and Pan American all 100 times better than this.
boc – yes
hopkins == this
pan america = lol
yep, this definitely goes on best 2013 list.
boring
This is better than the new Boc which is great itself.
When I read an interview with Holden about how he was approaching this album, I assumed that he was going to fuck it up and produce a boring record. But this is quite good and a very exciting listen. He’s been heavily influenced by Krautrock and his experience with Dan Snaith, which, for me, is a good thing.
his going to far … too beyond .. i do respect him from the old days
that’s a bad thing?
This is absolutely a-mazing.
