shit man if NODATA had a little review of every album this site would be the bomb. but they upload less amount of files right
true dat. but with all the links that inevitably go down for various reasons, i think it would be a bit much to ask from this site. god bless em.
I guess a rating madde by users may be a good idea
yep!
yes yes
yep! yes
they tried that. everything was highly rated.
yeah, the rating system didn’t work very well.
it was obvious that most people rated music on pure hype.
I agree there should be some ratings/votes system
A lot of good music on the site goes under the radar and I would have missed it if I didn’t take the time to explore further
YipYip.
Just a X / 10 rating would be really nice. Then their could also be different “rated”-tags, like “Best rated”, 9’ers etc…
We had one before, and it went down for a reason
agreed. I don’t think a rating system on a site with so much anonymity and one in which it is focused around illegal activity, the ratings would inevitably be a circle jerk of just 1’s and 10’s. i would rather trust the uploader to just give it a subjective personal rating. But I definitely approve of the youtube sample videos on each post to give a taste of the artist.
i just realized it’s Newalbumreleases.net that does the youtube videos. nevermind. but Nodata should try that out regardless
There are tons of websites with rating systems and reviews if you just google the releases (also mostly on youtube obviously). No amount of popular votes from fellow downloaders would help you get to the bottom of the new Tommy Four Seven single or whatever when the majority of people on this site seem like they are freaking out about Twin Shadow or similar artists. My suggestion is that if you like something give it a quick comment description explaining what’s good about it. The point of the site is exploration, and it’s more like a record store where you dig through crates than a hype blog which screams hyperbolic accolades at you composed of press releases and questionable comparisons.
One of the more thoughtful comments I’ve read on this site. Thankyou.
Nice comparison with the “record store” mentality. I spent many years in the crates learning to make snap judgements on unheard music based on cover artwork, song titles, and gut feelings. I apply this same skill to nodata, but instead of having to wait until I get home to verify my decisions, I can now do it instantly on youtube.
amen CC. “the point of this site is exploration” … less consulting others to decidewhat you like, more discovery.
I think the genre’s do a great job, but a real interesting sentence long thing could be awesome if done awesomely
The amount of comments is sort of a rating system itself… As long as they’re about the album
Smells like cabbage.
So many comments. But is the album good? Haha.
Why don’t you press the little button and find out for yourself :)
