Ah! I don’t just get it, I love Saturdays=Youth and much of the earlier stuff but this seems to lack poise, beauty and grace. It’s all a bit Peter Gabriel/Geddy Lee in the singing dept and busy/session musician style musically. Zola Jesus sounds neutered and there’s certainly no Skin of the Night on this album. Also confirms my long term feelings that doubles are a bad idea.
Prefer Team Ghost to this by a mile.
