Ok, who here is old enough to have bought this when it was originally released?

Yo mama played this when I used to go round to service her

Your honestly not going to listen something because of how it looks? Such ignorance never ceases to amaze me.

radio rip? 198 kps….no good. buy it! sound quality here is awful.

Witch House BS? You’ve never seen this cover?!! I forget the average age here is 13 sometimes.

Yes, bought this on the day it came out in ’86. Saw them tour this record and many others in 80’s. I figure that between vinyl, cassette, CD and now the 180 gram reissue and CD package remaster…..maybe I have bought this album 10 to 15 times over the last 25 years.

…kidding about the age 13 part BTW…if not obvious.

The joke was obvious to me, and funny enough to make me laugh out loud! :) Anyway, this is a “classic” now, like my dad giving me a Simon and Garfunkle record when i was little. Best thing he ever gave me, because it contained a little piece of his heart…

    nothing like aging internet hipsters

Yeah maybe. I stopped TRYING to be hip when this album came out though, so I’m not sure….can’t remember. Too old I guess………

First part of my message was to bronads who compared the cover to genre that was named in the few years or half decade at most, even though this album says “86”. I found that a little lame and uninformed to be honest.

The second part of mu response was in answer to muddybrookrambler who asked if anyone here was old enough to buy this when it came out. I was, and it is one of my favorite albums at the time and still is to this day. This rip sounds like shit and not worth the download if anyone here is interested.

Yeah, I’m pushing 40, still a massive music geek, have two kids and live in the middle of East Africa. I used to consider myself on the cutting edge, but now I could give a F%^$. Nobody here cares, and neither do I.

So yeah, nothing like young internet hipsters either man. Goes both ways. Isn’t it bedtime?

I bought this when it came out. Yes I am 4600 years old! I saw REM in clubs in the early 80’s. Hey Student! You don’t have to like the current crop to be cool. I think music got a bum-rap once the internet was introduced. All mystery was murdered by the instant gratification of answering the fax machine……at least we had…..The Fall/Roxy Music/Miles D/CAN/Ornette C/ Y Ono/Fripp/Eno/Swans/Wire/Slits/Raincoats/New Order/Joy D/Mekons/R Wyatt/Faust/Kraftwerk/PIL..yes we show our age but oh what memories we have…….

    • @ mark July 13, 2011

      Nice!
And that’s just the beginning of the Aging Hipsters list….

      • Dave July 14, 2011

I’m still making my memories thanks
