Another perspective: Time is an arrow. All things must change, expand, ebb, flow, mutate … If we just stand still with our notions of what constitutes non-lame dance music then the genre will come to resemble a statue of something once alive. Adaptation is what this is about.

I like the spirit of this thing Addison Groove is doing. By breaking apart dancehall-type rhythms and reconstructing with simple electronic sounds, using atonality and extreme repetition, the process of discovery of some new basic principles is displayed. Say yeh or meh to that, it’s fresh.
