Lamusa II’s “Club Mondo 2000” drops with little fanfare. Five swampy, ambient house tracks for dance and mind exploration. Similar in vain to the recent Caravan record on Ken Oath; tropical, hazy hued and Balearic-tinged, electronically driven but soulfully produced. Melodies breeze in on the ocean’s wind whilst the listener enjoys ice cold margaritas served over hot sands. Languid, and super, super chilled but, most importantly, keeping our attention through its unhurried course (a point I think a lot of producers seem to miss when exploring this style). Grab a hammock and your favourite cocktail, find your space in the sun and allow the aural delights of this record to infiltrate your mind, body and soul. Highly recommended.
