Are you aware of the longterm health risks of being so salty?

How do you know that she is even trying to be hip or immersed in the latest electronic gadgetry and beats? There is a huge market for ‘Schmaltz’ the genre. Look how well Josh Grubin, Taylor Swift, Michael Bolton and Yani have faired in this succinctly unique genre. People want to hear schmaltz.

Look, Yani and Bolton are just in another league of talent altogether. They don’t mess around with “beats”. They’re into melodious arrangements of ageless tunes.

      You’re kidding me…right…

M.I.A.’s music used to have edge and was fun, but still had a message. Arular and Kala are her only good albums. She’s gone downhill since then. The production is just too bland.

Clearly Diplo was the driving force behind those early classic efforts. The first warning sign after they split was having Rusko produce one of the singles on her next album. I think some songs still have a message or social critique in them, but those singles all came out so far in advance of the album, a full year in some cases, that it takes a lot of effort not to skip them never mind pay attention to the lyrics. As soon as the intro to a summer 2015 anthem comes on in fall 2016 it’s all but impossible to not press “next track”.

She is commenting on all the important issues of the day. To a hip-hop track! I believe we need to listen. You guys are stuck in the past, come on!

I want to hear the message, it’s just the music is sounds so uninspired that it taints the message from being truly effective. As someone mentioned above, it really seems like Diplo was the driving force. She needs to hook up with some producers who can take it up a notch. Especially if she is going more hip hop, production is just as important. No one is gonna hear the message if the beat bores them.
