It would appear that with this recording the artist has taken the unique artistic decision of removing every element that made his music interesting; a bold choice.
… to paraphrase: it’s shite.
yeah, maybe if you’re one of the idiots who only likes badlands and drifters
Yes, I am one of those big dumb dopes; compared to the various drone/noise bands on Not Not Fun, this is woefully uninteresting, and makes me pine for the DB of ‘Shangri-La’ and ‘Lone Runner’.
i mean, i can’t argue with the superb consistency of not not fun’s artists, but i think the soundtrack work and recent string of EPs he’s done over the last few years rack up there with my favorite nnf releases. personally, i don’t see this as a new ground DB is trying out–he’s had releases devoid of the qualities of old blood and night city and badlands since bird EP. i respect not enjoying any of his endeavors not showcasing that sound which has become his popular trademark sound and admittedly is fantastic, but this release, especially the last two songs, are not a new side of alex either. at the same time, i don’t think the dark DB of the releases you name is gone forever either. sorry for calling you tho mane. jumped the gun
No problem, it was mainly frustration speaking earlier; I’ll give this another listen minus the preconceptions; the final song has started to grow on me a bit.
Stretchin’ them artistic gams I see….not bad, not bad at all! (HEEhee)
This is amazing, many thanks!
One of the best records I’ve heard this year!
A close-up of the middle building in the distance was used on the cover of a drone album by Saåad.
You can see it here: http://saaad.bandcamp.com/album/sa-ad-insiden-split
Basically, I would like to know what the frack is going on here.
rumor has it that they’re the same person
no Saad are two guys from Toulouse (France)
so are dirty beaches
Um, no; Dirty Beaches is a the work of Alex Zhang Hungtai, a fellow from Montreal.
One thing i can tell you, nigga; you are naive! N. A. I. V E!
There is no such thing of french guys and bullshit, nigga, cause I AM Dirty Beachs and I AM Saad both, simple as that, I AM every fucken thing!
I am also Senor Coconot, Megadeath and Vampire Slayer, but that last one sucks, i now.
