These guys are capable of writing good songs, but will they, damn it, will they?

    boring cool dad stiffies everywhere

    • ok May 9, 2013

      lol. this.

    • e May 9, 2013

“boring cool dad…” Uh yeah, that sentence makes sense.
Being a dad is about the best f’n thing on the planet for myself, and I love the National and am excited about this album, but don’t have a “stiffie” I think shooting your load so easily and lightening fast is something only awesome lame kids do. Maybe you will get it one day.

      • Z E N И T H May 9, 2013

you are a boring dad judging by your comment. it’s not that the 2 things are related, it is just that you are a dad and you are boring for not laughing at the funny comment. and the fact you had a child means at some point you had a stiffie boring dad.

Errr……jesus christ. That was a joke, right? The original post just wasn’t funny. Mainly because the joke has been told so many times with so many bands and because “boring cool dad” is an oxymoron. It just sounded like a post from someone who didn’t give a shit and had a lot of years ahead of their adolescent life. Don’t like The National? Don’t download the record. But why bother trying to get a rise out of people who do? Pun intended…….Besides that, you know fuck all about me, or my humor.

            Autism: The Post.

          • Z E N И T H May 9, 2013

Pretty sure the “cool” in “boring cool dad” is sarcastic and a piss take out of the kind of word a boring cool dad would use to describe himself. the cunt.

          • e May 9, 2013

Yeah maybe. I’m not the one who described myself as cool, so I wouldn’t know.
It’s clear that The Internet has no idea what autism is, if they think my post is a good example of it.

        • Z E N И T H May 9, 2013

smoke your pipe and put on your slippers, relax dad it’s ok

          • e May 9, 2013

I will son, I will. Just as soon as I put you kids to bed, and tell you a story or two about all the cool bands and shows I saw as a kid before you were even a spit in your mommy’s eye.

          • e May 9, 2013

Shit could go on forever. I’m out. You two can go get a room.

          • e May 9, 2013

Wait, wait. One more…..Just saw this/

Now THAT was a funny comment! Lay that next to “boring cool dad stiffies everywhere.” No contest. One is funny, and one is just regurgitated drivel.
Ok. Now I’m done. Back the armchair, turntable and my antique record collection.

  6. dx May 9, 2013

just curious, there was an alternative link because all the others are dead. why did it get removed?

    • MARCEL May 9, 2013

I JUST USED THE FS LINK, COME ON SON GET IT TOGETHER

      • dx May 9, 2013

Thank Marcel, but that wasn’t the issue (and over here, FS still reads “This files does not exist”). I was referring to the fact that earlier someone was asking for a new link and an alternative one was supplied by a commentor, whose comment and link (the one I used to get this) have since been removed, and I was wondering why.

        • MARCEL May 9, 2013

AH I SEE IT’S DOWN NOW, WORKED FOR ME WHEN I TYPED THAT.

WELL YOU’VE GOTTA LOOK AT IT WITH THE QUOTE IN MIND “THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH”. WHAT ARE THE INCENTIVES FOR A BLOG OWNER(S) TO CONTINUOUSLY PUT UP LINKS TO STUFF LIKE THIS? AND WHY DO THEY CHOOSE THE FILE HOSTS THAT THEY DO?

SURE, THERE ARE BETTER HOSTS FOR US ON THE CONSUMER-SIDE (PERSONALLY I USE DIVSHARE) BUT THEY MUST BE MAKING SOME SORT OF COMPENSATION FROM OUR DOWNLOADS WITH THESE PARTICULAR HOSTS. SO IF SOMEONE PUTS UP ANOTHER ALTERNATE & THEY’RE NOT RECEIVING THE BENEFIT, IT’S COMPETITION ON THEIR DOORSTEP, WHICH THEY OF COURSE HAVE A RIGHT TO REMOVE.

SURE, WE’RE ALL FANS OF THE BLOG & THEY DO A GREAT JOB FEEDING THE MASSES, BUT IT’S NOT PURELY FOR OUR BENEFIT WITH A GOAL OF NEW RELEASES FOR ALL.

          • dx May 9, 2013

            Question answered. Thanks, Marcel.
